Word document is corrupt due to unknown cause.

Solution:
Save the document in .RTF format, reopen it and save in .DOC format, then reopen the .DOC file.
1) Save the document in RTF (Rich Text Format).
a) Open the corrupted document.
b) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save As...'.
c) Select Rich Text format (*.rtf) from the 'Save As Type' drop-down list box.
d) Click 'Save'.
e) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
2) Re-open the .RTF file.
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open'.
b) Select the document with the .RTF extension to open.
c) Click 'Open'.
3) Save the open .RTF document as a Word document (.DOC).
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save As...'.
b) Select 'Word Document (*.doc)' from the 'Save As Type' drop-down list box.
c) Click 'Save'.
4) Re-open the .DOC file.
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open'.
b) Select the document with the .DOC extension to open.
c) Click 'Open'.
